DRISCOLL (AGES 8-12)

The Driscoll Troupe is for young people ages 8 to 12. The Troupe produces two original musicals a year. Physical and vocal techniques, character development and dance skills are taught in the rehearsal process.

The Driscoll Troupe meets on Fridays at the Driscoll School in Brookline, 3:30-5:45 pm, with two weekend rehearsals during each session. Opening performances are at Driscoll in January and May. The Troupe then tours each show throughout the community as a social service. Enrollment is in September and January. Cost: $530 per session (includes a $50 non-refundable registration fee).

REHEARSALS

All Fridays 3:30pm-5:45pm at Driscoll School, Brookline

Friday April 19th is a holiday for the Brookline Public Schools. However, we have learned that Driscoll will be open (for their Extended Day program).
We would like to hold our regular rehearsal that day, Friday April 19th, 3:30-5:45pm. We are aware that this may not work for many, as it is both the beginning of Passover and Good Friday. However, we hope you will appreciate our need to press on and meet with those who are able to attend.
Please let us know if your child can attend, or not.

Kippy Dewey is the founding Co-Executive Director and oversees all programs of Urban Improv and Freelance Players, Inc. Kippy has taught and directed at the Charles Playhouse and the Next Movie Theatre and held artist residencies in schools throughout the metropolitan Boston area. Kippy is also the founding director of Creative Arts at Park, a multi-arts summer program for young people ages 8-15.

Narcissa Campion is the Managing Director of Urban Improv and a music director for the Freelance Players, Inc. She joined the organization in 1982. Narcissa also chairs the Music Department of Creative Arts at Park, a multi-arts summer program for young people. An accomplished composer and arranger, she has won two Massachusetts Arts Lottery grants for musical theater composition. Narcissa is a graduate of Wellesley College, where she was awarded the Lamb Prize for composition, and the Barrett Fellowship for the study of musical theater. She has composed more than 25 musicals for young people.

Ann Brown Allen, choreographer, has performed as a principal dancer with Dance Collective and Peter Dimuro/Performance Associates. She has also performed with the National Center for Afro-American Artists, Danny Sloan, Susan Rose, Beth Soll, Miguel Lopez and the Opera Company of Boston. She is an instructor of jazz, ballet and Pilates at Boston University.
