ABOUT URBAN IMPROV

Urban Improv. Empowering Boston area youth through interactive theater workshops

Urban Improv is proudly celebrating 25 years of empowering Boston’s youth to make positive decisions in their lives. Since 1992, the interactive program has impacted over 75,000 young people at more than 125 schools and community groups through our structured improvisational theater workshops focused on self-regulation, cooperation, and positive decision-making skills. Urban Improv’s structured improvisational theater workshops are designed to strengthen social and emotional (SEL) skills and help students deal creatively with real-life challenges through dialogue and performance.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Urban Improv comprises a 9-week interactive program with five Boston partner schools, three quarters a year – that means we offer programming more than half the weeks of the year! That means our actor/educators are able to be a consistent and reliable presence in the lives of the over 1,100 4th-8th graders they serve.

Want to see us in action? Contact us to book a visit to Hyde Square Task Force, where the students are transported by bus, to then be transported by art. We’d love to have you.
